It was up until the 1870’s when the first appearance of Cape diamonds hit the market and also when the gold discoveries of the 1840’s come to light that nearly all of known antique diamond jewellery had to be remounted due to the limited and short supply.
Romantic, symbolic and sentiment jewellery was always related to the Georgian antique jewellery. We offer a full range of different antique diamond jewellery with our most expensive being the 18 carat & silver diamond winged brooch which can set you back a staggering £14,000.
Most of this jewellery is 18 carat and ranges from things like 18 carat French collar necklace to something like the 1920’s diamond drop cluster earings. Until the early 1860’s production was very slow due to gas and steam engines not being used very widely within the production workshops.
